Kaleigh - Amsterdam Experiences Private Tour Guide

All About Me:

Hi, I’m Kaleigh. I grew up in Denver, Colorado, and moved to the Netherlands in 2015. After completing my B.S. in Art History, I earned an M.A. in Tourism and Culture and quickly fell in love with Dutch history. Guiding became the perfect way to share that passion, even though it wasn’t my original plan. I spent much of my twenties travelling and working as a waitress, nanny, and au pair until life in the Netherlands brought everything together.

My tours weave art history, Dutch history, Jewish heritage, and stories of resistance, especially from the Second World War. I adore guiding in the Rijksmuseum, where paintings like Rembrandt’s works linked to the old Jewish quarter, Jan Asselijn’s dramatic Swan, and scenes tied to figures such as Johan de Witt feel like old friends. I also love working with children in museums; helping them form their own connections with art is endlessly rewarding.

At home in Utrecht, I prefer its quieter streets, cosy cafés, and vibrant music scene to Amsterdam’s bustle. On days off, you’ll find me exploring smaller towns, wandering along hidden canals, or relaxing with my rescue cat adopted from the café next to the Resistance Museum. Curiosity, warmth, and a genuine love of storytelling shape every tour I lead.

You can take the following tours with me:

Anne Frank & Jewish History

Anne Frank’s Last Walk

Amsterdam City Highlightswalking & by bike

Guide for the Day

The Ultimate Amsterdam in a Day Tour

Rijksmuseum Tour

Van Gogh Museum Tour

My favourite place is the Kröller-Müller Museum in the East of the Netherlands. It’s tucked away in the middle of a national park, and you can take a free bike to get there, which makes it feel like a real adventure. The museum has the second-largest collection of Van Gogh’s in the world and an amazing sculpture garden. What I love most is that it’s a bit of a hidden gem. Not many people know about it because it’s quite tricky to reach without a car. But that’s exactly what makes it so special.

Outstanding experience on the Jewish Walking Tour Exceptional tour given by Kayleigh! She wove in the history of Amsterdam’s tolerance and placed the Jewish community within it. Her knowledge of the daily life in Amsterdam, before and during the Nazi occupation, was superb. She pointed out the stumbling stones in front of houses marking where Jews had lived before the war, explained the design and purpose of National Holocaust Names Memorial, two of several special moments on the tour. She also showed us the first Holocaust Memorial to gays murdered by the Nazi regime. Kayleigh and this tour of Jewish history are fantastic.

Well worth our time! I would highly recommend this tour! Our guide, Kaleigh, was very informative about the history, the culture and the experiences of the Jewish people during the war. This package includes and ends with a timed ticket to the Ann Frank house. Not to be missed with any visit to Amsterdam!

Kaleigh was a fantastic guide around Amsterdam. Informative, funny and as a special present for my friend she loved it. A smaller tour makes such a difference when exploring a new city.

Incredible Amsterdam Experience with Kaleigh! If you are looking for an authentic way to see the city, a small individual tour is absolutely the way to go. We had the pleasure of exploring with Kaleigh, and she was nothing short of fabulous! We covered an impressive amount of Amsterdam’s history and culture, but the highlight for us was how she integrated our love for street art into the journey. Kaleigh’s knowledge is deep, her energy is infectious, and she showed us sides of the city we never would have found on our own. Thank you, Kaleigh, for such a memorable day! Highly recommended.

My high-school aged daughter and I had an excellent tour with Kaleigh. I was impressed with her skills as a guide and the breadth and depth of her general and Anne Frank related knowledge. Her ability to bring context and insight and handle sad and difficult historical information balanced with fun and levity as appropriate made it an amazing experience. Hope to come back with my other daughters and spend more time with Kaleigh.

The Windmills of Zaanse Schans & Countryside Villages Group Tour: Kaleigh was adorable and enjoyed sharing her knowledge and passion! Although a quick trip, it was a fun exposure to Amsterdam's charm. It is a touristy tour, but it is enjoyable. The lunch was very tasty. Watching the wood cutting process at the Woodshop windmill was so interesting. Steven Leek at Cheese and Clogs was animated and fun!
