How Do I Get Anne Frank House Tickets?

Due to the capacity of the Anne Frank House, around a million people per year can enter the house and museum. The Anne Frank House is, after all, just a tiny, old, and narrow canal house.

A visit to the Anne Frank House is impactful and a must-do in Amsterdam, so how do you get these tickets?

You can only buy Anne Frank House tickets online

For years you were able to get tickets by standing in line in front of the House. Now the only way to buy Anne Frank House tickets is online via the official website of the Anne Frank House.

The website offers two different types of Anne Frank House tickets:

    • Regular house and museum visit (includes a free audio guide of the Anne Frank House in 9 languages). A visit will take about 60 to 75 minutes for most people.

    • Introductory programme including the regular museum visit (this is a 30-minute presentation about Anne Frank before you enter the museum where you’ll have an audio guide).

Both of these tickets are valid for a specific entry time slot and date, and the duration of the time slot gives you 15 minutes to gain entry. Due to the restricted capacity, you have to be on time. If you are late, they won’t let you in.

Tickets are in your own name, are non-refundable, and you can’t exchange them for another time slot. You need to think wisely and carefully about the time and day you want to enter the Anne Frank House, and be on time. You can use a credit card to buy the tickets.

If you don’t manage to book a ticket, don’t worry! Our Anne Frank’s Last Walk tour will take you inside the house, via the magic of our Virtual Reality headsets.

Please note:

Several companies are offering Anne Frank House tickets (at inflated prices). Sometimes tickets are sold via platforms like Viator, TripAdvisor, Viagogo, StubHub, and GetYourGuide. It is NOT permitted to resell tickets for the house, and these tickets can sometimes be fake. Many people have been turned away at the door of the house because their tickets are fraudulent.

I’ve found that there is always some beauty left – in nature, sunshine, freedom, in yourself; these can all help you.

When Should I Book Anne Frank Tickets?

Tickets for the Anne Frank House are released every Tuesday for a visit 6 weeks later. So, for example, tickets released on 13th May 2026 will be for entry for the week starting 24th June 2026.

We have created a calculator to help you work out the exact date and time (in your timezone) you need to be online to secure your tickets. You can access it here at the Anne Frank House ticket calculator

The tickets go on sale at exactly 10 am Amsterdam time (GMT+1). The tickets can sell out very fast, so set your alarm if you want to make sure you get tickets for the day of your visit.

Before you plan your visit, it also helps to understand why Anne Frank had to go into hiding in the first place.

Check with our calculator when you can get tickets for the Anne Frank House

During peak season (March to October) there is a strong chance the tickets will sell out within a few hours. It’s very likely that you will have to wait in an online queue before you can buy the tickets. If you are in a queue, make sure you have your credit card details nearby. In 2026, tickets are €16.50 each for adults, €7 euro for children from 10 to 17, or €1 if you have a child under 10.

There are no ‘last-minute’ tickets available. Once the online tickets sell out for a particular date, that is it. There is no waiting list for tickets, and you can not buy tickets at the house itself.

Still no Tickets? We have two good alternatives

Were you unable to get tickets for the date you required? Another option is to take one of our alternative tours. We currently offer 2 tours that include a virtual reality experience, taking you ‘inside’ the secret annex.

Anne Frank’s Last Walk

Retrace the final steps the Franks made on their journey to the annex, discovering the area around the hiding place and locations Anne mentions in her diary. Then enter the annex ‘virtually’ via the virtual reality tour, seeing the house as it was when the Franks lived there in 1942-1944. This tour can be booked every day at 10 am.

Frequently Asked Questions About Anne Frank House Tickets:

How do I buy Anne Frank House tickets in 2026?

Tickets are only available through the official Anne Frank House website (annefrank.org). New tickets are released every Tuesday at 10 am Amsterdam time (CET/CEST). There are no official resellers, and no tickets are sold at the door.

How much do Anne Frank House tickets cost?

In 2026, adult tickets cost €16.50. Children aged 10 to 17 pay €7, and children under 10 pay €1. A small online booking fee may apply.

Can I buy Anne Frank House tickets on the day?

No. There are no walk-up tickets or last-minute availability. Once a date sells out online, no further tickets are released for that day. Always book well in advance.

What if Anne Frank House tickets are sold out?

Amsterdam Experiences offers an excellent alternative: Anne Frank’s Last Walk and Secret Annex VR. This guided walking tour follows the route Anne took on her last day of freedom, and ends with a virtual reality experience inside the Secret Annex showing every room as it looked when the families lived there. Because this tour is completely independent from the museum, you can book it even when the tickets are sold out.

Can you help me get Anne Frank House tickets?

When you book a Private Jewish History and Anne Frank Tour with Amsterdam Experiences, we will assist you in securing official tickets for your chosen date through the Anne Frank House website. Tickets are obtained through official channels only, not bulk-bought or resold.

How long does a visit to the Anne Frank House take?

Most visitors spend between 60 and 90 minutes inside. The audio guide (included in the ticket price) walks you through the entire building at your own pace. Your entry ticket is valid for a specific 15-minute entry window, but once inside, you can stay as long as you like. We recommend allowing extra time around your slot, arriving a few minutes early, as late entry is not guaranteed.

What happens if I miss my entry time slot?

Unfortunately, the Anne Frank House operates a strict timed entry system. If you miss your 15-minute entry window, you will not be admitted, and your ticket cannot be refunded or exchanged for another date. Plan your visit carefully, especially if you are coming from another part of Amsterdam, and build in extra travel time during busy periods when trams and streets can be crowded near the Prinsengracht.

Is the Anne Frank House worth visiting?

Absolutely! The Anne Frank House is one of the most moving and historically significant museums in the world. A visit takes 60–90 minutes and leaves most visitors deeply affected. Even if you are familiar with Anne Frank’s story, seeing the actual hiding place, the steep staircases, the small rooms, and the bookcase concealing the entrance is a completely different experience. It is not a typical museum; it is a place that stays with you long after you leave Amsterdam.

What is the official website to buy Anne Frank House tickets?

The only official site is annefrank.org. There are no authorised resellers. Platforms such as Viator, GetYourGuide, StubHub, and Viagogo are not official sellers – some tickets sold there have turned out to be fraudulent, and visitors have been turned away at the door.

To know exactly when to visit annefrank.org and buy your tickets, use our free Anne Frank ticket release calculator – it shows you the precise day and time in your timezone.

Are there last-minute Anne Frank tickets available?

Yes – last-minute tickets are released every Tuesday at 10 am Amsterdam time, for entry dates around one week later. These sell out fast, so you need to be online exactly when they drop.

Our free Anne Frank ticket calculator shows you the exact date and time in your timezone to set your alarm.

If tickets are already sold out for your dates, our Anne Franks Last Walk tour is a great alternative that requires no house ticket.

Is the Anne Frank House the same as the Anne Frank Museum?

The Anne Frank House is part of the Anne Frank Museum (Anne Frank Huis in Dutch), located at Prinsengracht 263-267, Amsterdam. Whether you search for “Anne Frank Museum tickets” or “Anne Frank House tickets”, it is the same place – the historic hiding place where Anne Frank and her family lived in secret for two years, combined with exhibits about her life, her diary, and the Holocaust in the Netherlands.

Tickets are only available through annefrank.org. Use our ticket release calculator to time your purchase perfectly.
