Private Tour of Kinderdijk and Gouda
In the morning we visit the enchanting windmill hamlet of Kinderdijk to start the day. We will visit two of the famous windmills from the inside and have coffee inside a restaurant nearby. In total, there are a total of 19 windmills, the highest concentration you can find in the Netherlands. We enjoy the windmills from the water and from land.
On our way to our next destination Gouda we will enjoy our lunch.
Gouda, the historic city in the province of South Holland, is known world-wide for its Gouda cheese, its candles, and delicious stroopwafels. Yet Gouda has much more to offer than that alone.
We will take you to see some of the most beautiful parts of this historic city with its medieval city center. In a walking tour we will show you Gouda’s ancient canals and several splendid monuments, such as the Sint Janskerk. The Sint Janskerk is the longest church in the Netherlands, famous for its Gouda windows. Another must-see is the old City Hall, a beautiful monument dating back to 1450. We will see the carillon on the right side façade, whose mechanical dolls come to life to put on a wonderful show at two minutes past every half and full hour.
Of course when visiting Gouda we need to taste the best Gouda cheeses. We will let everyone taste some of the best cheeses (young, old, medium and with herbs) before heading back to Rotterdam.
