Private Windmills and Dahlia's tour

Explore the famous windmills of Zaanse Schans and discover the colourful dahlia show gardens of Keukenhof and Bollenstreek in this private Dahlias and Windmills tour (full-day).

Together we will escape the city crowds and discover the beautiful Dutch countryside. At Zaanse Schans we will learn about the culture and history of the Netherlands by visiting a clog-making workshop, a traditional cheese farm, and a working windmill.

In the afternoon we will visit the Dahlia Days festival at Keukenhof Castle and one of the show gardens nearby, where you will be able to take in the incredible beauty and variety of thousands of dahlias in almost every colour you can imagine.

In this private tour, we will take care of you throughout the day. Your driver/ private guide will pick you up from your hotel in a luxury car or minivan, and drive you to the beautiful Dutch countryside.

You don’t have to worry, all of the entrance fees are also included.

Windmills of Zaanse Schans in the Dutch Countryside

Our first stop is to the windmills of Zaanse Schans. Together with your private guide, you will explore the sights and learn about the history of this enchanting place.

You will visit a traditional clog workshop where you will learn the ins and outs of clog-making. Next, there is a visit to the cheese farm where you find out how real Dutch cheeses are made, and of course, we won’t leave before tasting them for ourselves.

To give you some insight into modern-day technology, we will go to an operational industrial windmill. Here you will experience the power of wind while enjoying the view of the stunning surroundings from the balcony of the windmill.

Dalia Days Festival at Keukenhof Castle

For the second half of the day, we head to the famous flower-growing area of Bollenstreek and Keukenhof Castle. At Keukenhof Castle, you will be able to enjoy over 100 different varieties of Dahlia which are showcased in their Dahlia Days festival. There will be time for you to explore the extensive castle grounds before travelling to one of the nearby dahlia show gardens.

Whilst at the show garden you will have the opportunity to take lots of photographs and even pick your own bunch of dahlias to take away with you.

At the end of the day, your private driver/guide will take you back to Amsterdam, where we end our tour.
