Streetart Frankey in the centre of Amsterdam
Inside Majestic, 1st floor window
Still there, as far as we know
André Hazes, the beloved Amsterdam singer of heartfelt Dutch ballads, can be seen in a first-floor window inside the Majestic building on the Dam. Born in the Pijp neighbourhood in 1951, Hazes became the voice of the Dutch levenslied and is still adored by fans long after his death in 2004.
Andre Hazes is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Majestic, in the centre of Amsterdam.
It is one of 184 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Centrum. 27 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
