Streetart Frankey in Amsterdam Zuid
Streetart Frankey on the Apollolaan
Still there, as far as we know
Jeu d'Apollo shows Apollo, the Greek and Roman god linked with the sun among much else, playing a game of pétanque on the white ledge of a facade, using the sun itself as his boule. The title plays on the avenue's name and the French jeu de boules. Frankey made it for the local residents during ArtZuid, through Wanrooij Gallery.
This Streetart Frankey artwork is on Apollolaan 20 mei, in Amsterdam Zuid.
It is one of 99 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Zuid. 14 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
