Streetart Frankey in Amsterdam Oost
Still there, as far as we know
Bu(u)rmanstraat is a pun on the street name and on Buurman en Buurman, the Dutch name for Pat & Mat, the two clumsy handymen from the Czech stop-motion series. Buurman means neighbour, and the well-meaning pair, whose do-it-yourself jobs always go spectacularly wrong, have been favourites on Dutch television for decades.
This Streetart Frankey artwork is on Burmanstraat, in Amsterdam Oost.
It is one of 28 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Oost. 4 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
