About Clown Bassie

Clown Bassie brings back one of the best-loved figures of Dutch children's television. Bassie and his acrobat partner Adriaan, played by the brothers Bas and Aad van Toor, entertained generations of Dutch children from the late 1970s onwards. Frankey made this 2025 work for all the children of De Kleine Reus primary school.

Clown Bassie is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Noorderstraat, in the centre of Amsterdam. It appeared in 2025.

It is one of 184 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Centrum. 35 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.

Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.

Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
