Streetart Frankey in Amsterdam Noord
Streetart Frankey finds a ‘galaxy far, far away’ in Noord
Still there, as far as we know
Ster Wars is a pun on Star Wars and the street name: an aster is a star-shaped flower, and ster is Dutch for star. George Lucas's space saga, which began in 1977, is one of the biggest film franchises ever, and here it finds a galaxy far, far away in Amsterdam-Noord.
This Streetart Frankey artwork is on De (voormalige) Asterdwarsweg, in Amsterdam Noord.
It is one of 32 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Noord. 6 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
