Streetart Frankey in the centre of Amsterdam
A shower of stars on the Nieuwe Doelenstraat
Still there, as far as we know
This work was made for Restaurant Flore, which holds two Michelin stars and a green star for sustainability. Frankey reimagined Bibendum, the Michelin Man, as a ballerina, since a dancer on tiptoe leaves the smallest possible footprint, lifting bronze stars above its head. It is a playful salute to a restaurant that combines fine dining with care for the planet.
Flore is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Nieuwe Doelenstraat, in the centre of Amsterdam.
It is one of 184 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Centrum. 48 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
