Streetart Frankey in Amsterdam Zuid
Ratatouille, French style, in De Pijp
Still there, as far as we know
Vive la Frans is a pun on the Frans Halsstraat, named after the Dutch Golden Age painter Frans Hals, and on the French slogan Vive la France. The French touch has a reason: Café Caron, a French bistro on the street, invited Frankey to make something for its facade.
This Streetart Frankey artwork is on Frans Halsstraat, in Amsterdam Zuid.
It is one of 99 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Zuid. 26 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
