Frankey made this work on the birthday of Henri Pronker (1956 to 2023), the legendary Amsterdam roller skater who spent decades gliding through the city dressed in little more than a thong. For many Amsterdammers he was part of the street scene, a free spirit who embodied the city's tolerance and eccentricity.
