Streetart Frankey in Amsterdam Zuidoost
The car-park spiker
Still there, as far as we know
This giant receipt spike, made in 2020, stands beside the Hondsrugweg, a road in Zuidoost that is due to make way for a park. With no cars needed there any more, Frankey suggests spiking them like old receipts. He made it with the Hondsrugpark initiative, which campaigns for the new green space.
This Streetart Frankey artwork is on Hondsrugweg, in Amsterdam Zuidoost. It appeared in 2020.
It is one of 9 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Zuidoost. 2 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
