About Jokey Smurf

Jokey Smurf, the prankster of the Smurf village who hands out exploding gift boxes, appears on the PC Hooftstraat. The little blue Smurfs were created by the Belgian cartoonist Peyo in 1958 and became a worldwide hit through comics, cartoons and films.

Jokey Smurf is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Pieter Cornelisz Hooftstraat, in Amsterdam Zuid.

It is one of 99 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Zuid. 72 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.

Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.

Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
