Streetart Frankey in Amsterdam Zuid
Still there, as far as we know
Made for HOFF Offices, this work is Frankey's variation on a Royal Warrant shield, the coat of arms that official suppliers to the royal household may display. He combines it with his own take on the lucky cat, turning the beckoning good-luck figurine into a Lucky Lion. The original lucky cat comes from Japan and is widely seen in Chinese shops and restaurants.
Lucky Lion is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Strawinskylaan 257, in Amsterdam Zuid.
It is one of 99 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Zuid. 2 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
