About Smiley

Smiley is a cheerful face on the Looiersgracht, a small canal on the edge of the Jordaan. The round yellow smiling face became one of the most widely recognised symbols in the world, and Frankey's version is a small reminder to smile.

Smiley is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Looiersgracht, in the centre of Amsterdam.

It is one of 184 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Centrum. 61 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.

Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.

Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
