Streetart Frankey in the centre of Amsterdam
Crikey, mate: Steve Irwin croc-surfs through the city centre
Still there, as far as we know
Space Rockets 020 turns hanging street lamps on the Nes into space rockets. Frankey designed them in the style of the Amsterdam School, the expressive brick architecture of the early twentieth century known for its sculptural details. The number 020 is Amsterdam's telephone area code, often used as shorthand for the city.
Space Rockets 020 is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Nes, in the centre of Amsterdam.
It is one of 184 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Centrum. 27 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
