Streetart Frankey in Amsterdam West
Still there, as far as we know
SpongeBob SquarePants moved into Amsterdam West in 2026. The cheerful yellow sea sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea in Bikini Bottom has starred in Stephen Hillenburg's Nickelodeon cartoon since 1999 and remains a favourite with children and adults alike.
Spongebob Squarepants is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Kinkerstraat, in Amsterdam West. It appeared in 2026.
It is one of 111 Streetart Frankey works on our map in West. 43 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
