Streetart Frankey in the centre of Amsterdam
On the theatre facade at Leidseplein
Still there, as far as we know
Statler and Waldorf, the two grumpy old men who heckle every act from their balcony box on The Muppet Show, have found a fitting perch on the facade of the Stadsschouwburg, Amsterdam's city theatre. Named after two New York hotels, they have been insulting performers, and each other, since 1975.
Statler And Waldorf is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Stadsschouwburg, in the centre of Amsterdam.
It is one of 184 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Centrum. 74 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
