About Tante Leen

Tante Leen (1912 to 1992) was a much-loved Amsterdam folk singer from the Jordaan, famous for her duets with Johnny Jordaan and her songs in support of Ajax. For many Amsterdammers she embodies the sentimental, working-class music culture of the old city centre, and this work pays tribute to her.

This Streetart Frankey artwork is on Tante Leen, in Amsterdam Oost.

It is one of 28 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Oost. 1 other work is still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.

Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
