About Wayne's

Residents could not agree on renaming the Stadionplein to Johan Cruijff Plein, so Frankey came up with his own solution: the square's first 'official' nickname on a street sign. He made it with PON. Cruijff, the greatest Dutch footballer, played for Ajax and Barcelona and shaped modern football as both player and coach.

Wayne's is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Stadionplein, in Amsterdam Zuid.

It is one of 99 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Zuid. 10 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.

Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.

Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
