Streetart Frankey in Amsterdam Nieuw-West
Still there, as far as we know
Wile E. Coyote, the ever-hopeful hunter from the Looney Tunes cartoons, is still chasing the Road Runner, this time in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Created by Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese in 1949, the coyote is famous for his elaborate schemes that always backfire. The street is named after Titus, the son of Rembrandt.
Wile E. Coyote is a Streetart Frankey artwork on Titus van Rijnstraat, in Amsterdam Nieuw-West.
It is one of 22 Streetart Frankey works on our map in Nieuw-West. 3 other works are still in place within about ten minutes on foot, so this one is easy to combine with a short Frankey walk.
Frankey's pieces are small and easy to walk past. Once you reach the spot, look up and around: at drainpipes, street signs, bollards and window ledges. If you visit and the work has gone, please tap Gone on its card on the map, so we can keep the map up to date for everyone.
Het Parool wrote about this work in its Streetart Frankey column: read the article (in Dutch).
Our guides know where Frankey's pieces hide. Ask us for a private street art walking tour and we will build the route around the art, Frankey's work very much included.
