Explore Amsterdam while seeking out some of the contemporary art hidden amongst its streets. One of the wonderful things about street art is that the city itself becomes the canvas, and what better canvas than Amsterdam?
Together with your private guide, explore areas such as the Jordaan, Amsterdam West, and the historic centre in search of urban art both famous and easily overlooked. Look out for works by Amsterdam’s mysterious Unknown Sculptor (De Onbekende Beeldhouwer), the playful interventions of Streetart Frankey, and lesser-known pieces hidden in plain sight.
Along the way, discover the stories behind the art and consider some of the questions it raises. What makes something art? Why has street art become so popular? Does it belong in a museum, and will today’s street art stand the test of time?
Amsterdam’s street art is constantly changing, so no two walks are ever quite the same. Your guide will adapt the route according to what is currently on display, your starting point, and your interests.

Amsterdam’s street art goes far beyond murals and graffiti. Depending on the route, you might encounter sculptures, installations, altered street signs, stickers and other creative interventions, including works by Streetart Frankey and the mysterious Unknown Sculptor.
Yes. This is a private walking tour, so your guide can adapt the route to your interests, starting point and the street art currently on display.
Not at all. The tour is as much about discovering what’s hidden around Amsterdam as it is about individual artists or styles. Your guide will introduce the stories behind the works and some of the questions surrounding street art, from what we consider art to what happens when street art moves into a museum.
