Flevoland has 14 museums, the fewest of any province, and the youngest ground in the world to put them on.
None of this province existed before the 1940s. It was the bottom of the Zuiderzee, pumped dry and turned into farmland and new towns within a single lifetime. That makes its museums unusual: they are about the making of the land itself, and about what was found when the water went.
Five of the 14 accept the Museumcard. One opens every day.
Flevoland is built for cars, with long straight roads and few stations. Lelystad holds four of the fourteen, including the two biggest, so a day based there covers most of the province. Only one opens every day.
We build private days across this province around the museums you actually want to see, with driving, tickets and timing arranged so the day works rather than sprawls.

This page is part of our complete guide to museums in the Netherlands, covering all 1,167 of them.
