Bespoke Private Tours in Amsterdam & the Netherlands, Planned Around You

A Personal Process from Start to Finish

Planning a bespoke private tour with Amsterdam Experiences is straightforward and personal. Whether you arrive with a detailed wish list or simply know you want something special, every tour begins with a conversation, and we design a private tour around exactly what you are looking for, shaped by your group, your interests, your pace and your timing.

We create tailored experiences across Amsterdam and the wider Netherlands, from canal cruises and Rijksmuseum visits to the tulips of Keukenhof, the windmills of Zaanse Schans and the waterways of Giethoorn. For those with more time, we also plan multi-day journeys that continue into Belgium. Private tours start from €500 per group, and we look after everyone from couples and families to private parties of up to 25 guests.

Our guides are local experts who treat your group like friends, sharing stories, adapting to your pace and making sure everyone has a brilliant time.

From First Enquiry to Unforgettable Experience

1. Get in Touch

Drop us a message, fill in our enquiry form or give us a call. Tell us about the destination, date, how many guests, and anything important to your group.

Not sure exactly what you want? No problem, we are happy to suggest ideas based on your interests and the time you have available.

2. We Plan Together

We put together a personalised itinerary and talk you through the options. Timings, themes, pace, dietary requirements, mobility needs. Every detail is taken care of before you confirm.

You receive a clear proposal with pricing and a full outline. No surprises, no hidden costs.

3. Your Guide Brings It to Life

On the day, your guide meets you at the agreed location: your hotel, the cruise terminal, or Schiphol airport. From that moment, the experience is entirely yours.

Warm and knowledgeable, your guide adapts the tour as you go.

Bespoke and Customised Tours

Some experiences do not fit a standard programme, and that is exactly where a bespoke tour comes in. Every tour begins with a conversation, so we understand what matters to you before we plan a thing. Whether you have a clear theme in mind, a special occasion to celebrate, or a group with very different interests, we shape the day around you rather than a fixed script, choosing the routes, stories, pace and stops that suit your group best. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is off the shelf.

Popular ideas include a relaxed day through Amsterdam’s quieter neighbourhoods and hidden gems, a tulip-season visit to Keukenhof, a countryside trip to the windmills of Zaanse Schans or the waterways of Giethoorn, or a private canal cruise paired with local tastings. Prefer to travel further? We also design multi-day journeys across the Netherlands and into Belgium, taking in cities such as Bruges and Ghent at a comfortable, unhurried pace. If you can picture it, we can usually build it.

What a private day actually includes

A price on its own reads as expensive. Here is a real example. Our Tulips and Windmills day is from €1,000 for the group and includes entrance to Keukenhof, entrance at the windmills of Zaanse Schans, a private guide and a separate driver, a luxury vehicle, hotel pick up and drop off, and water and snacks in the car. Nothing is added at the end.

On our museum tours the entrance tickets are included too, which is unusual. Most operators quote a guide fee and add museum entry per person on top.

Is a private tour worth it?

Not always, and we would rather say so. If you are two people on a budget, happy with a fixed route and do not mind sharing, one of our group tours will serve you perfectly well for a fraction of the cost.

A private day earns its price when time is short, when the group has mixed interests or mixed ages, when somebody has mobility needs, when you are travelling with young children, or when you are arriving by ship and have a sailing time you cannot miss. In those situations the flexibility is not a luxury, it is the whole point.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a bespoke private tour cost?

Private tours start from €500 per group, and bespoke itineraries are quoted individually based on the length of your day, the destinations, your group size and any extras such as a private canal cruise or museum tickets. You always receive a clear proposal with full pricing and no hidden costs before you confirm.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend getting in touch two to four weeks ahead, especially in spring and summer and around Keukenhof season. We can often arrange tours at shorter notice too, so do ask even if your dates are close.

How big can my group be?

Bespoke private tours work beautifully for couples and families, right up to private parties of around 25 guests. For larger groups or corporate events we can arrange several guides and vehicles.

Can you plan a multi-day or multi-city tour?

Yes. We design multi-day and multi-city programmes across the Netherlands and Belgium, combining cities such as Amsterdam, Bruges and Ghent, with transport and timings all taken care of.

Do you cater for dietary, mobility or accessibility needs?

Absolutely. Tell us about any dietary requirements, mobility needs or accessibility considerations when you enquire and we will build the tour around them, choosing routes, stops and transport to suit your group.

    Which areas do you cover?

We run private and bespoke tours throughout Amsterdam and the wider Netherlands, including Keukenhof, Kinderdijk, Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn, as well as Bruges and Ghent in Belgium. We also offer shore excursions from Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

    What happens after I enquire?

We talk through your ideas, put together a personalised itinerary with options for timings, themes and pace, and send a clear proposal with pricing. Once you are happy, your guide meets you on the day at your hotel, the cruise terminal or Schiphol airport.

What is included in the price?

Your guide, and on driving tours the driver and the vehicle. Entrance tickets are included on our museum tours and on several of the day tours such as Tulips and Windmills. Each tour page lists exactly what is included, and your written quote sets it out before you confirm.

Is a private tour worth the money?

If you are two people on a budget and happy with a fixed route, a group tour is the sensible choice. A private day is worth it when time is short, when your group has mixed interests or ages, when there are mobility needs or young children, or when you are arriving by ship with a sailing time to meet.

How many days should we book?

Most visitors take one or two guided days inside a three or four day trip, and plan the rest themselves. See how many days you need in Amsterdam and the Netherlands.

Where do we meet our guide?

For half and full day tours we collect you from your hotel, from Schiphol Airport, from the river cruise moorings or from the ocean cruise terminals in Amsterdam, IJmuiden, Rotterdam and Zaandam. For museum tours we meet at the museum entrance.
