When you take an Amsterdam Experiences Private tour of Amsterdam, you will explore the city with a local expert guide in a meaningful and personal way. From the twinkling canals of Amsterdam to a windmill brewery, stunning riverside views, historic crooked canal houses, and bustling city squares, each tour is shaped entirely around you. Our tours give you the freedom to discover the city at your own pace whilst visiting places off the beaten track that most visitors to Amsterdam never see.
Taking a tour with an expert private guide gives you the time to explore the diversity of Amsterdam in comfort. Many of our Amsterdam tours can be combined to create a full-day package, such as our Ultimate Amsterdam in a Day tour, which combines our Amsterdam city highlights tour with a Rijksmuseum tour and ends with a luxury cruise along the canals. We can create a bespoke day just for you, by including food stops, adding cultural sites you particularly wish to see or spending a little more time in the places that capture your attention. Our dynamic guides adapt the tour as the day unfolds, creating a relaxed and flexible itinerary that matches your style of travel.
Amsterdam remains a favourite starting point for many guests. Our private tours in Amsterdam include classic highlights, hidden neighbourhoods, museum visits, walking routes, bike tours and food tours. From here, you can continue your journey onwards to other locations such as Haarlem, Leiden, Delft, the tulip fields, the Zaanse Schans or the Dutch coast. We can now offer several tours in the Belgium, including the cities of Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent and Brussels.
When we plan our tours, it with a ‘people first’ approach, focusing on human connections rather than endless lists of facts and dates. Every one of our guides has their own particular places and special spots that they take great delight in sharing in an engaging and relaxed way, as a friend would do, showing you around their favourite city.
Our tours are spontaneous and dynamic, so you can change direction at any moment, add unexpected stops when you notice something interesting, and even pause for photos (our guides are happy to play photographer for you). Each guide has their own personality, which shines through their tours. They do not give long lectures and love to make sure you feel welcome and comfortable.
Whether travelling as a solo guest, a family, or a small group, your tour is designed to give you an experience that reflects what you enjoy most.
The items listed on this page show the range of tours and experiences available throughout Amsterdam. We have walking tours, museum tours, themed routes, food tours, and biking tours which can all be shaped to your preferences. We can meet you at your hotel, cruise port, station or any central Amsterdam location and build the itinerary around your timetable.
A private Amsterdam tour can start at 2 hours, for a very brief introduction to the city. We recommend a tour of at least 3 or 4 hours to give the best overview of Amsterdam and if you combine tours, a full day (up to 8 hours) can be arranged.
You can request a duration that fits your schedule, and we are happy to adjust the timing to your plans.

Due to the city-wide restrictions on motor vehicles and parking, it is not possible to use a car within the centre of Amsterdam. However, we can use the fantastic public transport system, which includes trams and a metro service, if walking is an issue.
Our tours are offered in English as standard, and many of our guides also speak Dutch, German, French, Spanish or Portuguese. If you need a specific language, we can often arrange it by request.

Our tours include a fully personalised itinerary, your very own local private guide, a dynamic tour route, and plenty of time for spontaneous stops and fun. We can also add museum entrance tickets, food stops, or transfers, depending on the tour you select.
Our private tours are priced per group, not per person, so the cost is shared. Private tours start from around 500 euros for a half day, with the exact price depending on the tour, its length, your group size and any extras. We always confirm a fixed price before you book.
If you want to skip the crowds, set your own pace and get real local insight rather than a one-size-fits-all group tour, then yes. The guide and the day are entirely yours – you can focus on what interests you, ask anything, and change the plan as you go. It’s the difference between seeing Amsterdam and understanding it.
