All About Me:
Hi, I’m Benardo. I have been working as a guide for more than ten years. While studying tourism and travelling extensively, I discovered how much I enjoyed connecting with people through local stories, traditions, food, and everyday life. I started by leading tours in Amsterdam at weekends, and what began as a passion gradually grew into a career.
I enjoy showing guests around Amsterdam on walking tours and bike tours, sharing the city’s history, neighbourhoods, and everyday atmosphere. I also love taking guests beyond the city on full-day driving tours across the Netherlands. The country may be small, but every region has its own character, and I enjoy helping people discover the variety that exists beyond the capital, from historic towns and villages to coastal landscapes and beautiful natural areas.
A big part of my tours is helping people understand a place through its regional traditions and specialities. If time and the itinerary allow, I enjoy taking guests to farms, local producers, and family-run businesses that offer a genuine insight into the region. Food is often at the heart of local culture, and these stops are never just about what is on the plate; they are also a way of learning about the history, landscape, and people of a particular area.
When I’m not guiding, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and being on the water. I am always looking for interesting places and stories to share with guests, whether in a hidden corner of Amsterdam or a lesser-known part of the country. There is always something new to discover, and that is one of the things I love most about the Netherlands.

Amsterdam City Highlights – walking
My favourite places in the Netherlands are Utrecht, which has all the charm of a historic Dutch city but feels much more relaxed than Amsterdam, and Valkenburg in the far south of the country. I also love exploring the coast, the dunes, and the lake districts, whether by boat or paddleboard. They are the places I find myself returning to again and again.
