Stadsbrouwerij Oudaen occupies a 14th-century fortified canal house on the Oudegracht, Utrecht’s famous sunken canal with its unique lower-level terraces. The brewery produces several house ales visible through glass panels behind the bar. The amber Oudaen Bier is a reliable choice, and in summer the canal terrace is one of the best places in the city to sit and watch the boats pass.
