All About Me:

Hi, I’m Carolina. I’m originally from Guatemala and have lived in the Netherlands for almost 21 years. I started guiding after some time in a corporate job at Booking.com, but even before that, I always found myself showing friends and family around wherever I travelled. Guiding felt like the perfect way to combine my love for history, culture, and sharing stories.

I specialise in Jewish Quarter tours, including Anne Frank’s Last Walk, as well as bike tours, food tours, and Rijksmuseum tours. My favourite is the Jewish Quarter tour because it comes from the heart. Growing up, I studied Anne Frank’s diary at school, and I’m passionate about honouring history while educating visitors. I approach these tours with seriousness and respect, while still bringing warmth and engagement to every interaction.

I love exploring Amsterdam’s culture and diversity, from the lively Jordaan markets on my food tours to the quieter corners of Westerpark and Dappermarkt. When I guide, I enjoy tailoring each tour to the people I’m with, combining historical insight with local stories, and creating genuine connections.

You can take the following tours with me:

Anne Frank & Jewish History

Anne Frank’s Last Walk

Amsterdam City Highlightswalking & by bike

Guide for the Day

The Ultimate Amsterdam in a Day Tour

Rijksmuseum Tour

Van Gogh Museum Tour

Carolina guide

My favourite place is the hidden courtyards in Haarlem, the “Hofjes.” They’re tucked away behind little doors, and each one feels like a tiny secret garden. I love wandering through them, discovering the quiet beauty and history behind each courtyard. There’s something magical about how peaceful and unexpected they are, and I enjoy sharing that feeling with visitors. It’s a place where you can really slow down and feel the heart of the city.

A must visit We learned so much about the history of Jews in the Netherlands that we didn't know. Our guide, Carolina, was so knowledgeable and engaging. We really enjoyed her and the places she showed us prior to the Anne Frank house visit. Very sobering experience but something that we should all be educated about.

An insightful yet poignant experience The tour was an excellent experience and our small group of 4 made it the perfect opportunity to interact with our amazing guide, Carolina. Her stories were insightful and poignant, as we walked and listened to facts I never knew about Anne Frank’s experiences. After a nice, healthy walk, the tour wrapped up at the cozy Spanjer+Van Twist restobar, where the VR experience took place—once you wear the VR goggles, it felt as if you were transported back in time. Although this tour doesn’t include an actual visit inside the Anne Frank House, think of this tour as a fantastic compliment to that, if you plan to go. Had such a great time, enjoyed meeting our other tour mates from Belgium, and huge kudos once again to Carolina for taking such good care of us. Highly recommend the tour!

Carolina was our guide and she was wonderful. She really tried to help her audience relate to the stories she was telling. The VR was great! So glad we did this. Seemed like a more personalized experience than actually visiting this AF house.

Anne Frank's Last Walk and VR visit of house. We were not able to book a tour of Anne Frank's actual house as it was sold out. We decided to book Anne Frank's Last Walk and VR visit of the house and we were not disappointed. Our guide, Carolina, was fabulous and we thorough ly enjoyed the tour. We happened to be touring on Anne Frank's 95th birthday which we did not realize but Carolina was prepared with flowers for us to place at the statue honoring Anne. It was a heartfelt moment for sure. Thank you to Carolina for providing a wonderful tour.

Anne Frank's last walk - very moving and informative. The wonderful Carolina took us on Anne Frank's last walk. She was incredibly knowledgeable and the tour was really informative. It was really moving to hear of the family's walk from their hiding place to the prison. The VR was amazing and brought the living conditions to life for the families. Carolina went above and beyond to inform us of other things to do in the city and further afield.

Great alternative if you can’t book Anne Frank museum Carolina was a great guide. Lots of historical information given and suitable for all ages. There were younger children in the group and she pitched it just right. Good alternative if you can’t book Anne Frank museum.

Very interesting tour Carolina was excellent. She gave us a very interesting informative tour. The coffee shop with the virtual tour at the end was a very good idea especially because we had to walk in the rain during the tour. We booked this tour because we couldn't get a spot for the Anne Frank's Museum, but I think this was better as I read that the museum is very crowded and I don't like that. Thanks Carolina!!!
