All About Me:
Hi, I’m Carolina. I’m originally from Guatemala and have lived in the Netherlands for almost 21 years. I started guiding after some time in a corporate job at Booking.com, but even before that, I always found myself showing friends and family around wherever I travelled. Guiding felt like the perfect way to combine my love for history, culture, and sharing stories.
I specialise in Jewish Quarter tours, including Anne Frank’s Last Walk, as well as bike tours, food tours, and Rijksmuseum tours. My favourite is the Jewish Quarter tour because it comes from the heart. Growing up, I studied Anne Frank’s diary at school, and I’m passionate about honouring history while educating visitors. I approach these tours with seriousness and respect, while still bringing warmth and engagement to every interaction.
I love exploring Amsterdam’s culture and diversity, from the lively Jordaan markets on my food tours to the quieter corners of Westerpark and Dappermarkt. When I guide, I enjoy tailoring each tour to the people I’m with, combining historical insight with local stories, and creating genuine connections.
You can take the following tours with me:
Amsterdam City Highlights – walking & by bike
My favourite place is the hidden courtyards in Haarlem, the “Hofjes.” They’re tucked away behind little doors, and each one feels like a tiny secret garden. I love wandering through them, discovering the quiet beauty and history behind each courtyard. There’s something magical about how peaceful and unexpected they are, and I enjoy sharing that feeling with visitors. It’s a place where you can really slow down and feel the heart of the city.
