World-Famous Spring Flowers and Tulip Fields

Available: 18th March until 9th May 2027

Secure your 2027 visit early. The Keukenhof 2027 season is short, running for just eight weeks from 18th March to 9th May, and public tickets are only released in mid-October 2026. Popular dates and weekends sell out quickly. As part of your private tour we pre-arrange your guaranteed entry tickets, so you can visit with confidence, with no queueing at the gate and no missing out on dates the park has otherwise sold out.

Feel the tulip fever by exploring the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens and discover over seven million Dutch tulip bulbs in full bloom. This private flower tour offers a personalised experience of one of the Netherlands’ most iconic attractions.

Keukenhof opens once each spring between March and May. Mid-April is usually peak bloom, but colour and variety depend on weather.

Explore the ‘Kitchen Garden’.

Experience the beauty of Keukenhof, the large spring garden known for its spectacular display of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, irises, orchids, and many other seasonal flowers. Since opening to the public in 1950, this “garden of Europe” has delighted millions of visitors with its colourful landscapes and artistic floral designs.

Walk through meticulously landscaped flower beds and explore the four garden pavilions showcasing even more botanical variety and creative displays, each designed to highlight the diversity of Dutch spring blooms.

Travel in Comfort and Style

On this private tour, your guide will collect you from your chosen meeting point and escort you in comfort to Keukenhof. Along the scenic route, enjoy views of blooming bulb fields and the classic Dutch countryside before arriving at the gardens.

Once inside, take your time wandering the pathways, discovering floral sculptures, and admiring tulips in almost every colour imaginable. Your guide will share insights into Dutch flower bulb cultivation and local landscape as you travel, with scenic stops in the Bollenstreek flower fields.

What can you expect to see at Keukenhof Gardens?

Not sure your dates line up with the bloom? Our tulip bloom calendar shows what will be flowering while you are here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is Keukenhof from Amsterdam, and can you visit on a private day trip?

Keukenhof is about 50 minutes from Amsterdam by car. This is a private day trip from Amsterdam during the spring season, with door-to-door transport and entrance included, so you can enjoy the gardens without the queues.

When is Keukenhof open?

Keukenhof opens for about eight weeks each spring, typically from late March to mid-May, with the tulips usually at their peak in mid-April.

Are entrance tickets included?

Yes. Keukenhof entrance is included, and as a private tour we time the visit to avoid the busiest moments where possible.

Can we see the tulip fields too?

Absolutely. We can include a scenic drive through the surrounding Bollenstreek flower fields, which are a spectacular sight in full bloom.

Discover Even More flowers at the Tulip Experience

After exploring the gardens, you can continue to the Tulip Experience, where you will learn about the history of tulips and see displays of more than four million bulbs in over 500 varieties, designed for immersive and photographic moments. The story behind this iconic Dutch flower is told vividly from the point of view of the tulip grower, who has been cultivating and growing tulips for three generations.

Or you can take a scenic drive through the Bollenstreek flower fields surrounding Keukenhof before returning back to your accommodation.

Both options extend your flower experience and provide excellent opportunities for photos and enjoying spring in Holland.

If you would like to explore this area more, we have an 8-hour Tulips and Windmills tour.

Find out more about how we plan your private tour.

Tips for your Visit

  • Arrive early or later in the afternoon to avoid peak crowds (we can offer both)

Tulips and windmills at the peak of tulip season. Astonishing! Laszlo was wonderful. His experience and explanations, and his endless patience with my difficulty walking, absolutely made both the Keukenhof Gardens and Zaanse Schans windmills complete delights. He was well prepared, with umbrellas at the ready, and advice at just the right moments. The tulip fields, and the Keukenhof, were just stunning! And the village at Zaanse Schans was the perfect end to a wonderful day.

Anne Frank's Last Walk and VR visit of house. We were not able to book a tour of Anne Frank's actual house as it was sold out. We decided to book Anne Frank's Last Walk and VR visit of the house and we were not disappointed. Our guide, Carolina, was fabulous and we thorough ly enjoyed the tour. We happened to be touring on Anne Frank's 95th birthday which we did not realize but Carolina was prepared with flowers for us to place at the statue honoring Anne. It was a heartfelt moment for sure. Thank you to Carolina for providing a wonderful tour.

Lovely experience with Carolina Carolina was fabulous, she is very passionate and provided us a lot of background in the Anne Frank’s Last Walk. Carolina also bought flowers for us to pay tribute to Anne Frank as today is Anne Frank’s birthday.

We had a wonderful memorable day today with our tour guide Laszlo, at the 2nd last day at Keukenhof gardens and the Tulip Experience. It was a beautiful sunny day, many tulips were done, but we still saw many gorgeous displays of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths, indoors and out. Laszlo is very cheerful, hospitable, knowledgeable, and flexible. He took 40+ pictures of us with several displays, and shared them with us afterwards. He was especially knowledgeable about the business of tulip growing, explaining many facets at the Tulip Experience, and when driving to and from the fields. We were not able to come to Amsterdam before this date, but it was well worth it to have this memorable and special day with Laszlo. Thank you so much Laszlo, and best wishes to you in your life and career(s)! - Gary and Carol from Canada

Spectacular private tour with Chris of Amsterdam Experiences Had an amazing full day tour with Chris from Amsterdam Experiences. We were four sisters who took a private tour to Keukenhof and Zaanse Schanse. Chris was knowledgeable, friendly, passionate, thoughtful and a gentleman. He took us to a charming restaurant for lunch in an old train station, taught us a lot about the Dutch people, their culture and history. He pointed out important sights in the city that we wouldn't have visited otherwise and shared a list of fun things to do in Amsterdam. What a wonderful way to start our trip!

Our private tour of Zaanse Schans and Keukenhof with Parkinson's Disease This was our first visit to Amsterdam and my first trip abroad since my PD diagnosis, so I wanted to get some local help to ensure both I and my partner got the most out of our short tripI chose Bespoke Amsterdam Experiences as they offered all the activities we were interested in - food, tulips, windmills and boatsIt was very easy to make contact with them to ask questions - especially about my mobility issues and how this could be accommodated in the activities we were interested in. After the first contact, we had a dedicated person who handled all follow-up questions and bookings before and throughout our trip, which was very comforting and at no time was there any confusion or problem with language nuancesWe decided to do both the Private Tulips (Keukenhof) and Windmills (Zaanse Schans) tour together, as this was the main reason we chose to visit Amsterdam at this time and I did not want any problems with my mobility distracting my partner's enjoymentNote: If you have a UK blue badge, it is worth taking it with you along with the Dutch supplement notice you can print out, as it can help with parking at KeukenhofWe were met at our hotel by our guide for the day - Jeroen, promptly at the agreed time and taken by car first to Keukenhof. The day was wet and overcast and our guide Jeroen did his best to make sure we made the most of any breaks in the rain by driving us around some of the tulip fields until the rain eased up a little. After we arrived at the park, Jeroen explained the layout of the park, the best bits you must see and those that you can avoid, along with where to purchase tulip bulbs if we wanted to. After this, we were very kindly left to experience the colour, smell and sights of this wonderful park after agreeing on a time to meet back at the entranceThere was a lot to see this time of the year despite the rain and I had deliberately chosen not to use a wheelchair whilst I could still walk, albeit very slowly. This meant we initially did not have enough time to see everything, but Jeroen was very accommodating after a quick phone call, in adjusting our schedule to allow us more time at Keukenhof to see it all and most importantly time to purchase some tulip bulbs which are being delivered to our home later in the year. However, I am sure we still did not see everything as there were so many weaving paths and it was hard following our progress using the map in the rainWe then continued our journey onto Zaanse Schans, with our guide providing a very interesting history of the Netherlands as we travelledUpon arriving at the windmills, lunch was pre-booked at the local restaurant which served local food/drink as well as more international options - we can recommend the mustard soup and local beerZaanse Schans is made up of some working windmills, and several authentic houses that have been preserved/restored and moved to this park - some of which are privately owned, along with a clog museum, workshop and shop as well as a cheese museum. The windmills that are working do different tasks like saw wood, grindstone or crush cocoa into chocolate - we can recommend the make-your-own hot chocolate windmill along with the wood sawing windmill which has an accessibility lift allowing you to visit the different levels whilst it is in action (assuming it is windy enough)Again I chose not to use a wheelchair as it is all flat land, which worked OK as the park is smaller than Keukenhof, but be aware that steps in the Netherlands can be more like ladders to us in the UKWe were then driven back to our hotel after a thoroughly fun but exhausting day, along with some very helpful ideas from Jeroen of other gems to visit during our stay. We certainly got the best out of our time during this trip, due to the help and experience of our guide Jeroen

Wow, what an amazing time we had on this private flower tour in Amsterdam! Our guide, Stephan, was not only super friendly but also a total flower expert. Even though we were a week too early for the full blooms, he was able to show us all the coolest spots after researching where we could see some blooms! We even saw some baby tulips! Our guide personalized the tour just for us, making sure we got to see everything we were interested in. He even surprised us and took us to the beach along the North Sea where we had a fantastic lunch! If you're in Amsterdam and love flowers even half as much as we do, you've gotta book this tour. Thanks to our awesome guide, Stephan, and the whole team for a partial bloomin' good time! We'll definitely be back for more.

Bespoke Amsterdam Experiences is a great choice! I had an opportunity recently to work with Stephan and Katherine. They were so professional, courteous and excited to showcase Amsterdam. In short notice, Stephan pulled together a small group tour that was not previously available but fit with what we had in mind. I was in town for a conference and wanted to see the flowers in bloom before they were open to others. He put together an amazing driving tour where we could see the flowers in bloom! We even got to go to the North Sea for lunch, what a bonus I wasn't expecting. I will definitly be contacting Amsterdam Experiences for all of my Amsterdam tours going forward.

I met Stephan recently at travel agent industry event and just so happened I was bringing my family to Amsterdam for a day with no set plans! It was like it was fate that we met :) Stephan was quick to give me a professional itinerary that met my family's needs. He was also open to changes as needed as we were coming in on an overnight flight and knew my kids would be jetlagged. We had a wonderful day at Keukenhof gardens, walking tour with wonderful food stops in Amsterdam and a canal cruise on the cutest private vessel with drinks. His attention to detail was great - even giving my kids a traditional chocolate easter egg in the morning (our tour was on Easter). Everything was spot on! I plan to use his services for my client's needs as well in the future!

Amsterdam highlights What a special day! We started with the magnificent Keukenhof Gardens and then made a last minute itinerary change; instead of traveling to Zaanse Schans, our excellent guide Chris took us through Albert Cuyp market and introduced us to a variety of delicious culinary treats. We ended our day with a tour of the beautiful and peaceful Begijnhof. Bespoke was so pleasant to work with in the advance planning. Kathrine communicated every step of the process.

Amsterdam Experiences helped me organize a proposal on a private tour. They were incredibly helpful every step of the way. They were prompt in responding while planning the event, which really helped make the whole thing less stressful. They also gave helpful suggestions and were very invested in helping me get the details of the proposal perfect. In the end, both the actual tour and proposal were memorable. My girlfriend (now fiance) loved the proposal. We had a great time visiting Keukenhof Castle with our tour guide and enjoyed a picnic on the beach. Can’t recommend Amsterdam experiences enough.

We recently completed a week-long stay in Amsterdam. The trip was planned on short notice, due to frequently changing Covid rules. As part of our visit, we arranged three private tours through Amsterdam Experiences. From our initial contact through the completion of the tours, Amsterdam Experiences service was exemplary. Kathrine was able to arrange full-day tours of the Delft and The Hague, Tulips and Windmills and a private canal boat tour, all on a few weeks' notice. This was particularly remarkable, given we were visiting at one of the busiest times of the year. Our tour guides Jeroen and René were excellent. Knowledgable, organized, fun to be with, and the tours were well-paced. As well-travelled Americans living in Europe, it was a great experience!!!

Your tour was brilliant, we had an excellent time, such a great experience.( family of 3 with a 4 years old) You made everything so so easy and enjoyable for us. We got picked up at the exact hour from our place In Amsterdam. We then arrived shortly in Zaanse Schans where Ingrid was waiting for us. We then visited the windmills, cheese factory and clog shop .Ingrid got Scarlett a hot chocolate( the whole village of Zaanse Schans smelled of chocolate that morning) . After that we got in the cab and went for lunch ; had a lovely meal in this very nice restaurant ( burgers and salad) . Another ride after lunch and around 2 o’clock we got to Keukenhof where we had an amazing time . Spent there around 2 hours and we then headed back to Amsterdam. It was really that easy , we felt like celebrities being picked up from various locations and dropped off somewhere else :), minimum effort from our side but maximum satisfaction! We want to say a massive thank you to you and all your team! You were/ are great!

Frequently Asked Questions about the Private Keukenhof Tour

When is Keukenhof open and what is the best time to visit?

Keukenhof Gardens are open once a year during the Dutch spring, usually from mid-March until early May. Mid-April is often the best time to visit, with the widest variety of tulips in bloom, although exact flowering conditions vary each season depending on the weather.

This is a fully private tour. You will have your own guide and luxury vehicle, allowing you to set the pace, adjust timing, and personalise the experience to your interests.

How long does the Keukenhof tour last?

The tour typically lasts around 6 hours. This includes travel time from Amsterdam, your visit inside Keukenhof Gardens, and optional scenic stops in the surrounding flower region. Also look at our alternative tour to visit the Keukenhof Gardens in combination with the Windmills of Zaanse Schans

Is transportation included?

Private luxury transport with pick-up and drop-off in Amsterdam or nearby areas like the cruise ports and Schiphol airport is included. Other pick-up locations can be arranged on request.

Do we visit the tulip fields outside Keukenhof?

After your garden visit, your guide can include a scenic drive through the surrounding flower fields in the Bollenstreek region, depending on bloom timing. Be aware that most of the flower farms are removing the flowers around May 1st.

Can the itinerary be customised?

Absolutely. This private tour can be adapted to your preferences, such as spending more time in the gardens, adding countryside stops, visiting a tulip farm, or combining Keukenhof with other nearby highlights like the Windmills of Zaanse Schans or the beautiful city of Leiden.
